There are tons of choices out there when it comes to naming your child, but some couples have a much easier time than others. Take Justin and Jordan Garton for example. They’re Italian, their last name is Garton, and they have a long-standing history with the popular restaurant Olive Garden.
So what was the most appropriate name for their new daughter who arrived in the beginning of December? Olivia Garton of course, and they couldn’t be happier with it.
“When we first said it out loud together, it was so beautiful, and we both knew at that moment that was the right name for her,” Jordan told Food and Wine. “We didn’t directly name her after Olive Garden, but I can say there was an intentional connection.”
“As we went through a few more names, we considered ‘Olive.’ We both got a kick out of the pun ‘Olive Garton,’ given our history with the restaurant, but we wanted it to be a bit more subtle. Kids can be cruel, if you know what I mean, and Olivia rolled off the tongue a bit better with her middle name: Michelle,” she concluded.

The couple first developed their bond both with each other and at Olive Garden a few years ago when they bought Never Ending Pasta Passes. At the time, they ate there for six straight weeks, with Jordan ordering the Ravioli di Portobello and Justin getting the Braised Beef and Tortellini.
“At the time, we could barely afford groceries, so that initial investment in the pass helped us get by,” Jordan says. “Since we were there every day, we became friends with the staff and that made that period of time for us very memorable.”
Jordan also went on to say that the couple will expect to take many trips to their beloved Olive Garden in the coming weeks, months, and years.
