Water is an essential and vital component of our everyday well-being. There are so many benefits that can be gleaned simply by staying hydrated throughout the day, but did you know that there are other ingredients you can add to your water that will transform it into a detox drink and provide even more benefits for your body?

Add things like fruits, vegetables, and herbs and allow them to soak in the refrigerator for a few hours. The longer they soak in the ice water, the more nutrients your body will absorb.

Lemon or Lime

You’ve likely been adding lemon to your water for years simply for the flavor, but the citrus has so much more to offer than mere taste! Cucumbers

Foods high in fiber water – such as cucumbers – aid in digestion and healthy bowel movements. Simply add a thin slice of the cucumber to receive its nutrients and benefits.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is great for other things besides flavoring apple pie! By simply adding one stick to your water, you can improve digestion for your entire body. On top of that, it can even kill the bacteria that cause Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Ginger Root

Cut fresh pieces of the root and allow it to soak in the water overnight, and the following day you’ll have a drink that will help with indigestion, gas, bloating, and cramp relief.
